Becoming a Part-Time Barista and Shift Supervisor

Just wondering for you people out there who became Part-Time Barista or Shift Supervisors, did Starbucks request to do a background check on you? I currently just started as a casual barista but didn't have to do a background check becuase Casuals don't get benefits. I would prefer if Baristas from Australia reply to my query, but baristas from other countries are also welcome to reply too.
