Swedish Union Seeks Support After Nazi Murder Attempt

Submitted by SWU on Fri, 12/12/2008 - 12:30pm.

Nazis tried to murder union activists and their daugther. In 1999 Nazis
murdered the SAC member Björn Söderberg. Now they have tried again.

Two members from Stockholm – one of them earlier board member of the Stocholm
Local- and their three year old daughter had to escape trough the balcony
of their three floor building, when Nazis put their apartment on fire.

Just Before 09.00 pm Monday the first of December, someone poured gasoline
trough their mailbox, our member loudly shouted “we got our child in
here!” Just seconds after they lighted it up. The only way to escape was
trough the balcony, were our members managed to lower their daughter to
the neighbour downstairs who catch her and then climbed down themselves.

Miraculous our members and their daughter managed to escape without
suffering any injuries, but that doesn’t changes the fact that someone,
cold-blooded tried to take their lives. Just two days earlier someone
burned down the social centre Cyklopen in Högdalen south of Stockholm. The
police think that the fires were made by the same people. Six months ago
the Nazi webpage Info-14 published names and pictures of our members Our
members have trough their union been working against racism and class
injustices. For that the Nazis wanted to punish them by eliminating their
whole family.

The Nazis behind Info-14 are the same persons active in the
organisation ”Salemfonden”, that annually arranges northern Europe’s
biggest Nazi march the first Saturday in December. - The people who
arranges the Salem-march isn’t any harmless persons with a deviant
opinion. They are ideologically convinced Nazis, apparently able to kill
for their cause, says Ola Brunström of SAC:s executive committee. SAC now
opens a found in support for members and parts of the organisation that
suffers attacks from right-wing extremists.

We encourage everyone, organisations as well as in private to contribute.
It’s important for us to give targeted and suffering members all of our support,
as important as we continue our struggle as usual. Right-wing ideas isn’t something that
we only fight when fascist manifestations take place, but something that
we fight in long terms in our work, building the union at our workplaces!

Starting with the invasion of April 9, 1940, Norway was under military occupation of German forces and civil rule of a German commissioner in collaboration with a pro-German puppet government. The occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany ended May 8, 1945, after the capitulation of German forces in Europe.

This period of occupation — usually referred to as the "war years" or "occupation period" in Norway — had defining significance for Norwegian society, and it is only recently that Norway considers itself as having passed out of the "post-war era."

Thanks for a resourceful content. this is what i have been looking for so long. I don't get the idea why they start these kind of trial when the criminal are old. Perhaps this more personal form of accountability will deter future actors where the fear of international condemnation has not. Ed Hardy stores are located in many locations internationally including the Americas, Europe and Asia.
