Hey Everybody!

I just found this site and I've been very entertained by it over the last few minutes. I've worked for Starbucks almost five years in Seattle and have a very good idea how the company really works. I support the forming of this union but am not convinced it can really change everything it claims. It would be great if you did, so why not try?

Hello to the anti-union posters in here as well. Maybe the store where you work is great and you've never had any problems, but you should know that not everyone has had the same experience. There have been many abusive managers and district managers in the company that I've seen first hand. They are people that really don't care about the partners that are working the hardest. They don't care if you have benefits, and they really don't want to give you raises you've earned. If you haven't dealt with this, Cheers! Starbucks is an entry level job, but that doesn't mean you have to bend over if they try to fuck you. That's where a union can help, and can be created with just a few people and a web site! The more shit you put up with, the more your going to get. I worked at a CA store when Starbucks had to pay $18,000,000 in labor lawsuits. A shift leader I work with just last month had the company talk him into settling out of court over benefits they refused him illegally. He agreed, not wanting to damage his chances of getting hired to the SSC. He got a check for three dollars. Starbucks screws people left and right. You could talk to their attorneys about it if you don't believe me.

I'm just a lazy barista though. I don't want a career with Starbucks. It's worked out for me as a no-brainer part time job with a flexible schedule so I can do my freelance work and still get some benefits. I've found benefits that are just as good that you can buy on your own for the same price if you need. I've seen the company get worse and worse so fast. Even in Seattle I probably return half the drinks made for me because the idiot on the bar doesn't know how to calibrate the fucking grind on the stupid fucking Verismo. And I hate you company cheerleaders too you stupid fucking clones. You make me sick, especially that 45 year old barista that posts in here. Who is it, Mr Man? Your Mr. Fucking 45 Year Old Barista Loser Man you dumb shit.

oh well

I see your point just fine. I have been so fucking screwed over by my DM discriminating against me it is truly unreal. My whole attitude towards Starbucks has just left a bad taste in my mouth. Any of you out there that think Starbucks is so great and wonderful well think again. They do discriminate esp against single moms......oh you can't do this and that...bullshit bullshit....availability up your ass people...I cannot wait til the day I am finished with school to get outta there....maybe the money I use from suing Starbucks will help me pay all my student loans off as well as my living expenses for the next 50 years...
