I am a 17, almost 18, year old senior in high school. I have tried twice to get a job at Starbucks, but they keep saying that there aren't any available positions, but I REALLY would Love to work at a Starbucks! I have never had a real job before, so I know that might be turning them off. The only things I have done are work childcare at my church and I cleaned houses for a summer. I feel that my personality is great and that I have what it takes to be a Starbucks Partner for a long time. Please help me...any type of advice or help would be really amazing, because I am starting to get discouraged. Thanks.

Hi, my name is "beeeeeeeeeep" and I live in San Antonio, Texas.

I work at one of the seven million Starbucks locations in this city and was wondering if there might be any other Texans out there considering unionization. I didn't bother to read through all the other posts in this forum before posting this one. If anyone has already created a thread for San Antonio then he/she should have titled it better because I didn't find it. :-)

I might be interested in local union awareness activities, but let's start with some baby steps, eh?

Without a union where will all the lazy, aimless, 20 somethings who believe they are entitled to everything yet should not have to work for anything people work? Yes, they need a union! Keep lazy 20 something people off the streets, let them join a union!

Hey remember when Danny Gross was aksed by the district manager to speed it up during a rush hour and Danny slowed down because he thought it was funny. I would have fired him on the spot.

Hey everyone,

i work at sbux for almost 3 yrs now. i have mixed views about the company but i now know that it might be possible that if we have a union to fight for better wages then we might be able to hire and keep some really good people. i have see people come and go for variety of reasons but one of the most important reason is that the pay doesn't keep up with the inflation and cost of living.

sure, some people are lucky enough to work part-time just for some fun money, but what about those that needs to take on a second job to make a decent living for themselves or their families?

it is true that sbux offers stock options, but what good does it do if you don't make enough to contribute to it.

our jobs is not a easy job but we still deserve a decent living wages.

Starbucks does not need a union. The only thing unions do now is take money out of your paycheck. They have outlived their usefulness.

With the difficulty management has finding employees to fill positions, that in itself is power.
